The below link will take you to a very fascinating site published by Blue Book Inc.  This site contains some very valuable information concerning serial numbers and production figures for many different brand names/manufacturers and models of firearms.  Some of the information goes back into the 1870's.  Also, some of the information contains data that I have never been able to find before.  I highly recommend that you print any information you may find useful as this site is kind of iffy.
